PDP distances self from plot to impeach Imo dep gov

By CHIDI NKWOPARA

OWERRI— The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State has distanced itself from the current travails of the Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso.

The state PDP Chairman, Chief Eze Duruiheoma, made this known in Owerri, while reacting to the accusations on the party for allegedly masterminding the planned impeachment of the deputy governor.

He said: “There is no iota of truth in the story making the rounds that the PDP either initiated or enmeshed in the imbroglio rocking Imo State Government and its functionaries”

Noting that the show of shame was a self-inflicted wound, which had left more questions than answers for Imo people, the Imo PDP boss also explained that recent trip to Abuja by PDP lawmakers was for a meeting and nothing else.

Duruiheoma said: “Neither the state PDP nor the Presidency has any hand or interest in what is happening in Imo State, whether for or against any person or group. Therefore, the PDP should be kept out of the mess.”
