LAGOS – NO fewer than 4,3945,651 children below the age of five will be immunized during the National Immunization Plus Days, NIPDs, in Lagos State, beginning tomorrow through March 5th, 2013.
Already the State government has sourced about five million doses of oral polio vaccine through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, for second round of the National Immunisation Plus Days campaign.
The four-day immunisation exercise targeted at children at homes, markets, churches, mosques, major car parks and social event venues, will be implemented by 2,254 house to house teams, 1714 transit teams as well as 778 fixed post teams.
Announcing the commencement of the exercise at a briefing in Lagos yesterday, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who assured of adequate security for the exercise, called on parents and guardians to bring out their children and wards for vaccination.
