YOLA: Unknown Gunmen Friday night laid siege on Ganye,
headquarters of Ganye Local Government in Adamawa State, with heavy
casualties.

The gunmen said to be numbering about thirty overran the divisional police station, the prison headquarters and an old generation bank, all located some meters from one another.

Also attacked were relaxation spots, where the heavy casualties were recorded.

Eyewitness account told  Vanguard in Yola that the attackers first struck at divisional police station which was set ablaze before proceeding to the prisons where the inmates were set free and the building also set on fire

The Adamawa State Police command has confirmed the incident.
