The truth has finally emerged on the botched sponsorship of the Nigeria Premier League  won by Total Promotions on behalf of telecommunication firm, MTN but was scuttled by the Rumson Baribote-led Board which succeeded Davidson Owumi.

Sports minister and Chairman National Sports Commission, NSC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi revealed this much in an interview he granted supersport.com denying allegations leveled against him by the ousted NPL Chairman.

“Honestly, it was Total Promotions that won the sponsorship deal, but when the crisis started I had to call Glo for discussion. But unfortunately, it was as a result of Baribote’s selfish interest in the Glo’s N650 Million bid that made me order Glo to hold on,” he revealed.

Continuing, the minister said, “Glo said in their report that the Nigerian league is worthless, and I was mad.
