DUTSE—Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, has dismissed the statement credited to Senator Jubril Aminu, that the reconciliation committee set up by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the crisis in Adamawa State was a creation of Governors’ Forum.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations to the Governor, Mallam  Umar Jitau, and made available to Vanguard in Dutse.

The governor said the committee on Adamawa was a creation of a forum by President Goodluck Jonathan, who is also a leader of the party, to look at the general well being of the party and not that of the Governors Forum.

He added that the reconciliation committee comprised himself as chairman, governor of Abia State and PDP legal adviser.

The governor listed other members to include PDP women leader, publicity secretary, with the Special Adviser on Politics to the Vice President as secretary of the committee.

It would be recalled that Senator Jibril Aminu had described the Nigeria Governors’ Forum as  instrument of oppressing the Federal Government and the people.

Aminu, who protested the purported intervention of Governor Sule Lamido’s committee in the crises in Adamawa PDP, said he had no confidence in the choice of Lamido because of his relationship with Adamawa Governor, Alhaji Murtala Nyako.

Aminu said: ”I don’t know how the forum came about and if it is not checked, it will put the country in serious trouble as the state chief executives unite to challenge the Federal Government.”
