18,335 access HIV treatment at NIMR
A CUMULATIVE 18,335 persons including pregnant women and children, are currently accessing comprehensive HIV treatment care and support at the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research NIMR, Yaba, Lagos. This is coming on the heels of a recent report ranking Nigeria eighth out of the 12 countries that have attained stability in HIV infections. At 0.9 per cent, the Institute’s Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission, MTCT, programme is one of the lowest in the country.
