AHEAD of the much speculated dissolution, at the Ebonyi  State Executive Council in January 2013, Governor Martin Elechi, at the weekend, recalled the three commissioners who were a month ago suspended for  alleged improper dressing to a state banquet at the Government House Lodge, Abakaliki.

They are the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Ben Igwenyi; Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon. Chukwuma Nwandugo; and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Dr. Onyekachi Eni, the suspension was lifted “in the spirit of Christmas and New Year festivities and the goodwill that traditionally accompanies  same”.

Elechi had, during the swearing-in of the cabinet in July 2011, promised that he would dissolve and reconstitute the State Executive Council after 18 months, in order to inject new blood into the machinery of government.
