NANS wades into ABSU school fees crisis

By Tony Edike

ENUGU- National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has waded into the ongoing disagreement between the authorities of Abia State University, ABSU and the students over increase in school fees.

NANS, which is an umbrella organisation responsible for the protection of interest of Nigerian students both at home and in the Diaspora, said it decided to intervene in the crisis to ensure non-interruption of academic activities in the institution.

In a press statement signed by Comrade Kingsley Chidozie, National Director, Action and Mobilisation Officer of NANS, the association said it had also resolved to look into the school fees problems in most of the nation’s tertiary institutions “through consultation and consolidation approach” rather than being confrontational.
