Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu is set to thrill and inspire football youths  at the ongoing Akpabio Cup, organizers have said.

Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Uko Akpabio  for the competition in a statement yesterday said the  former Ajax and Arsenal talisman would jet into Uyo this weekend to inspire youths participating in the competition.

“I am delighted to inform Nigerians that Nwankwo Kanu and his younger brother, Ogbonna have graciously agreed to be part of this year’s tournament, in addition to earlier confirmation of super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi and his assistant Daniel Amokachi.

The initiator of the competition, Hon. John Ekpeyong, while celebrating Kanu’s acceptance to attend, urged teams that are competing for the gigantic trophy, to play by the rules as scouts from Europe and other parts of Africa were already in Uyo for the week-long tourney.
