Hoodlums attack LP chieftains in Owo


AKURE — AT  least, six persons have been arrested following breakdown of law and order in Owo council area of Ondo State ahead of the October 20 governorship election.

According to reports the hoodlums numbering about 12 drove in a white bus invaded the residence of a Labour Party member, Mr. Ade Omoloja but when they could not find him unleashed terror on people in the area including Mrs. Abimbola Fagbade, Omoloja’s pregnant wife, injuring her with sharp objects.

A report said the thugs later went berserk as they continued to harass Owo residents shooting sporadically.

Police authorities in the state confirmed the violent clash in the town but said the number of those arrested would be made public later.
