Henceforth, there will be no hiding place for corrupt officials of Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, as Lagos State government has promised tougher sanctions against erring personnel of the outfit.
The development is as a result of corrupt tendencies of some officials who used to collect bribes from pedestrians who prefer to dash across expressways instead of using overhead bridges. The story was reported by Megacity spotlight.
Speaking with Vangauard, KAI Marshal, Retired General Danjuma Meigeri, said he has set up a monitoring team against likely officials.
Meigeri who called on members of the public to report any act of extortion by any KAI official gave out a GSM number through which reports can reach the authority for disciplinary actions.
Through the number, 08023682254, any offended person should contact him to report any KAI official who is found wanting.
He said the Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola has been doing well and the KAI Brigade will not in any way drag him back.
‘’We have asked the provost department to start setting their trap and we shall not tolerate erring officials no matter how well connected he or she is.’’ he said.
Speaking further, Meigeri said; ‘’I shall be very happy to catch an example, you see, crooks are very clever but my eyes are clear, ready for eventuality no matter how connected the culprit may be.
“The public should produce circumstantial evidence, name tag and time and text it to the above number. I shall not allow anybody to dent the governor’s image because KAI’s purpose is to wage war against indiscipline,”
