30 new ambulances for LASUTH

IKEJA—Lagos State Government, yesterday, commissioned five new ambulances valued atN150 million at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, as part of efforts to further reduce morbidity and mortality in the state.

Commissioning the ambulances which have topped the number of functioning ambulances to 30, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who explained that each of the ambulances cost N30 million, added that the procurement became necessary following the sharp rise in road traffic and domestic accidents across the world including Lagos.

The procurement of the ambulances would further forestall the lives of victims of road traffic and domestic accidents who most times lose their lives due to lack of ambulances to immediately convey them to  hospitals.
