THE Super Eagles Chief  Coach and one of the facilitators at the GTBank Tournament Ambassador’s programme, Stephen Keshi has urged over 700 secondary school students  that participated at event to be focus and dedicated to whatever they do in life.

He pointing out that the reasons he succeeded as a footballer was because he was dedicated to whatever thing he does.  “At my early age, I love playing football and I never allow any thing to distract my attention not even opportunity to school abroad because I knew where my passion is”

Urging the students to utilised the giving opportunity they had to hear from the facilitators, he noted that when he was growing up, he never had the opportunity that those students have to listen to motivational speakers to give them a sense of direction and opportunity to become whom they desire to be.

Also speaking, the General Manager, Head Communication and External Affairs, GTBank,  Mr Lola Odedina, has said that the company has kept faith with the secondary school students whom he described as the seed of the future of Nigeria that would be exported outside the country as worthy ambassadors.

“At Guaranty Trust Bank, we have decisively kept faith with our secondary school students, the seed of the future we hope to see and export outside Nigeria as worthy ambassadors of GT Bank’s youth football tournaments.”

Speaking at the GTBank tournament ambassador’s programme held at Ikeja, Lagos, Odedina said that as an organization that has worked its Corporate Social Responsibility into its business strategy,  every investment made today will pay off with the emergence of a new crop of responsible adults.

She described success as not just the accomplishment of set objectives in the area of one’s chosen endeavour but an all-round development and actualization of one’s potentials. Odedina noted that the purpose of programme among others, seeks to stimulate our young football players to success both on and off the pitch.

She said, “We have over the last few months witnessed the demonstration of rare talent, physical fitness, team spirit, social interaction, fair play, victory and the agony of defeat at the Principals Cup, Heritage Cup and Super Cup tournaments.

“This period has given us an opportunity to renew our faith in our dear nation, Nigeria. The potentials we have seen displayed and the sheer effort at personal and team improvement leaves no one in doubt that the nation’s sports and Nigeria at large can rise from its ashes.”

According to her, This season’s schedule of programmes will end with a camp GTBank programme which is a two-week residential and intensive football training programme to be led by a foreign Coach who will be closely assisted by two other accomplished Nigerian coaches, adding, “The best players discovered during both the GTBank sponsored tournaments shall participate in this year’s Camp GTBank as it holds in August.
