Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Wednesday moved up to 5th position on the log of the Nigerian Premier League following  a 2-0 home victory over visiting Akwa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The homers shot into the lead through a beautiful play from the midfield before Moses Ogaga fired in a low shot past the Akwa United goalkeeper whom the visitors felt didn’t cross the line. Mutui Adegoke made it two from the spot, sending the Oluyole Warriors fans into high heavens.

Speaking after the tie, Akwa United gaffer, Solomon Ogbeide expressed sadness over the none usage of goal line technology, stating that 3SC’s  first goal didn’t cross the goal line.

“Shooting Stars first goal didn’t cross the line. This is why some of us coaches have been crying to FIFA to adopt the goal line technology. We are not under any pressure of any kind. We are just playing our style of football which we believe will payoff for us,” Ogbeide said.
