It was fun all the way as the late Christy Essien -Igbokwe Memorial Foundation organized their first ever show at the Nigerian Conservation Foundation Lekki, Lagos.
Put together to relive the memories of the Lady of Songs as the late musician cum actress was better known, the event was organized for the less privileged and physically challenged children in the society.
The colourful event which featured various cultural displays, singing competitions, fashion parade, arts and crafts and different kinds of games had Lean on me crooner, Bill Withers as top celebrity guest.
Speaking at the event was the Chief Operating ofiicer of the Foundation Pastor Romeo Obika, who stated that the reason they decided to organize the programme was to show love to the less privileged and physically challenged persons in the society.
Mr Romeo went further to say that the foundation which was just four months old aims at showing the society how to care for the poor and not look down on the disabled but make them happy by showing them love and making them realize that there is ability in their disability. By doing these, according to him, “ the society will be a better place.”
Present at the event was one of the popular star actresses, Clarion Chukwurah who spoke about showing love to the children. She then went further to make a donation of fifty thousand Naira to the less privileged foundation .
Also present was a representative of the NTA’s Zonal Director , Miss Museum Tourism and Mr Waheed Saheed who represented the State Commissioner for Youths and Social Development
