Range Rover Evoque irresistible, says Coscharis boss

THE president of Coscharis Group, representatives of the Jaguar Land Rover Group, in Nigeria, Dr.Cosmas Maduka has described the new Range Rover Evoque as irresistible, and iconic product that makes the difference.

Dr. Maduka, who was speaking at the Ocean View restaurant during the unveiling of the new Range Rover Evoque, Thursday said “this is not just another moving object, it is Range Rover Evoque and it is about making a difference.

The occasion which also saw movie diva, Jennieve Nnaji drive home a brand new, Range Rover Evoque after signing the doted lines as the Range Rover Ambassador in Nigeria was witnessed by high profile Nigerians and Range Rover lovers who thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of the baby Range Rover which has changed  Land Rovers fortunes for good since its launch last year.

According to Dr. Maduka, the Range Rover Evoque would have been introduced in Nigeria earlier than now but for the company’s policy not to introduce any product until it was properly tropicalised to adopt to the Nigerian environment.

“This iconic model of Range Rover has been launched in other markets in late September 2011. But our principals did not release the Evoque to our market because the quality of our gasoline is not compatible with the  engine of the vehicles that were initially launched in other markets.

They delayed ours to retune the engine and make them compatible with the quality of gasoline that is locally obtainable in our market and today, we have a perfect product before you that is suitable for our market,” he told the audience.

According to Dr. Maduka, “the Evoque is a Sports Utility Vehicle that possesses the control ride and refined comfort of the Range Rover Sports in a smaller, lighter and more agile package. He added that the Evoque was designed and built to deliver the assured responsive on road performance demanded by premium customers who find the current line up too practical and conservative.

To this end, the Coscharis boss noted that their target was to win more customers with the new Evoque.

“Our intent is to attract young buyers to complement our already established older customers. As such, we expect 90 per cent of our potential customers to be entirely new customers,” he said.

Continuing, he said, the Range Rover Evoque is designed to start appealing to customers who would never have considered the Range Rover brand before. “Some of that comes from car’s size, which is very compact, fuel economy, maneuverability, on-road capability and style.”

He describe the Evoque as a car that is at home both on-road and off-road. “The Range Rover Evoque is a city vehicle that demonstrates a very much urbane orientation in its stylistic design. It is the smallest and highest Range Rover ever built. Although it does have clearly off-road capability, which is a core unique selling point of the Range Rover – Land Rover brand but its on-road capability is as effective and powerful,” he stated.

On the targeted customers for the car, Dr. Maduka noted “the market drive of Evoque is the luxury consumers,” including hardworking individuals who loves life, young couples, single business executives, young families, sporty and active individuals, directors, executives and entrepreneurs, the young and young at heart.

According to him, the Evoque is  a cross bread vehicle with premium characteristics to meet the expectations of both classy female and male customers, adding that the car outsold all other Ranger Rovers the very first week it arrived their show rooms.

“As at date, the Evoque has outsold all other Range Rover models within the first week of arrival into the Nigerian market. The pre-launch sales demand has been so high, however, given our customer orientation, we have adequately prepared to meet and surmount demands.

Dr. Maduka, however, noted that the after sales department is ready to offer the best service as usual to the Evoque customers nationwide.
