ENUGU—PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan is expected in Enugu tomorrow to launch the National campaign on back-to-school with emphasis on boy-child education, for the South East zone of the country.

Enugu State Commissioner for Education, Dr Simon Uchenna Ortuanya,  said the event would take place at the Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.

He explained that the campaign which is also to be known as “Mmuta Amaka”, was principally aimed at creating opportunities for children especially males, who had abandoned education in pursuit of other endeavours, to return to school.

According to the commissioner, those expected at the function include the governors of the five states of the South East, members of the National Assembly from the zone, Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, royal fathers from the South East, school heads  and a host of others.

He added that all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure that the event was successful and that the campaign would receive the required support.
