Rural communities, NGOs partner Ondo on devt

AKURE – ONDO State Government weekend unfolded plans to actively involve residents of rural communities in its projects to be embarked upon in government’s development efforts.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development and Non-Governmental Organisations, NGO, matters, Mrs. Bolanle Olafunmiloye, who disclosed this in Akure added that government will collaborate with the various civil society groups in the state to achieve a successful implementation of such programmes.

She said the essence of the joint effort between the government and the civil society sector was to ensure that the direct beneficiaries determine the projects they wanted and play active roles in the funding and management after execution.

Olafunmiloye noted that the state government had started establishing developmental projects that could uplift the rural dwellers economically and that such venture should be sustained beyond the present administration.
