Provost of Federal Technical College, Omoku, Rivers State, Dr. Nkasi Oguzor, has said that preparations are in top gear to upgrade the college to a degree-awarding institution.
Oguzor, while welcoming the Minister of State for Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike, who was on inspection of the college, said the college was preparing to move to its permanent site.
“The relocation of the college has become imperative as the temporary site is gradually becoming too small for our activities. We also anticipate that one day, the college shall be upgraded to a degree-awarding institution, which is the desire of our host community.”
The provost appealed to the Federal Government to assist the college with intervention fund to enable it fence the college and put in place other facilities. He disclosed that despite the tremendous progress made, the college still faces challenges such as the construction of road network to link both sites of the school.
