LAGOS – President of National Bible School, NBS, Dr. Murphy Akrasi, has charged the Federal Government to monitor the monies voted for security in the 2012 Appropriation Bill for the fund to achieve the desired result.
Akrasi said this at the convocation and ordination of the institute at the Breath of Life Conference Centre, Obanikoro, Lagos.
He said: “There must be money to be able to fight insecurity, because whatever instrument you choose has to be paid for. That security fund needs proper monitoring and commitment to achieve the desired result.”
While commending President Goodluck Jonathan on his initiative on the allocation of the security fund, he urged security agencies to be focussed while handling the security challenges in the country adding: “The security issue in Nigeria requires wisdom to handle. Therefore, the agencies involved must be focussed, consistent and avoid distractions.”
Akrasi said the problems confronting the nation were beyond prayers alone and that the leadership needed to collectively work towards achieving utmost peace in the country.
The NBS boss called for an appropriate forum where the nation’s stakeholders including heads of religious groups would sit together and check the root causes and increasing challenges in the country.
The NBS, which is a member of International Ministerial Council (IMC), at the event graduated 135 students and ordained 42 ministers of the gospel while Charity Okoli emerged the overall best student.
