Lagos FA to work towards true professional clubs
By KATE OBODO
Lagos State Football Association chairman, Seyi Akinwunmi has said that its FA is working hard to ensure that the state has a true professional club that would represent the state when it gains promotion to the Nigerian Premier League next season.
“I have said this over and over again that it is not the job of the FA to run the league but the job of clubs owners. Our job is to support clubs both financially and otherwise and not to run the clubs. That is why we are in the process of streamlining the organizational sector of the clubs we have in the state, so that they would look like true professional clubs as it is done in Europe,” Akinwunmi said.
Continuing he said, “we want a situation whereby clubs in the state have secretaries and other key positions as well as other necessary requirements that aid a club to function very well. With that, we can be sure of better clubs and better structure in the state.
