A middle-aged man,  Kamorudeen Adeoye, has been  crushed to death by an articulated truck belonging to a cement factory on Papalanto road in Yewa South Local Government Area.

The incident  which happened Saturday evening, occurred  in a head-on collision  between  a Mitsubishi car  with number-plate  Lagos BF 937 APP and a  trailer with number-plate  Jigawa XB 894 HJA .

According to a source, the victim was alone  in  the car and  was  on his way to Ilaro  before  the trailer  loaded with cement and  coming from the Ibese factory crushed  the car and reportedly killed him.

The cause of the accident could not be officially ascertained, but it was  gathered from  police officers and  officials of the state Traffic Compliant and Enforcement Corps at the scene of the accident that it may have been caused by over-speeding and dangerous driving by the trailer driver.

The atmosphere was charged  when some youths who  had  gathered at the scene of the accidents  threatened  to burn the trailer to  avenge the death of Adeoye who was said to be the chairman of the Task Force of the Road Transport Workers’ Union, RTEAN, in Papalanto.
