ABEOKUTA—THE Judicial Commission of Enquiry on Lands set up by Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State yesterday, submitted its final report, revealing several abuses in the allocation of government lands including allocation to alleged non-existing beneficiaries and allocation.

The commisssion also discovered issuance of Certificates of Occupancy,  C of Os, to beneficiaries without evidence of payment.

It recommended outright cancellation and recovery of lands, recovery of monies from companies and individuals as well as baring those involved from public office.

This came as Gov. Amosun assured that the recommendations of the commission would be fully implemented.

Presenting the report to Amosun, Chairman of the Commission, Justice Abiodun Akinyemi, said there were evidence that the state was heavily shortchanged in the lands allocations.

The chairman said the  commission recommended outright cancellation and recovery of lands, recovery of monies from companies and individuals as well as baring those involved from public office.

Receiving the report, Amosun assured that the recommendations of the commission would be fully implemented after deliberation by the State Executive Council, saying all legal procedures would be strictly adhered to. He said government would issue a White Paper on the report and all the findings and recommendations of the commission would be run in newspapers for people to know and for posterity.
