ONDO State Government yesterday promoted about 5,000 teaching and non-teaching staff ranging from grade levels seven to 16 in secondary schools in the state.
Letters of promotion were presented to the beneficiaries by the Chairman Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Mr. Fola Amure, who said the the exercise would boost the morale of the teachers.
Meanwhile, politicians across ideological and party divides in Ondo State under the aegis of the Progressives Coalition, PC, yesterday adopted Governor Olusegun Mimiko for a second term in office due to what they described as his impressive performance in the past three years.
According to a statement by the state’s Secretary of PC, Dr Dapo Iwala, the group noted with utmost delight the unprecedented performance of the Dr. Mimiko- led administration in Ondo State since its inception about three years ago.
“We are therefore not in any way surprised that people of goodwill and institutions, both at home and abroad have continued to bestow on him avalanche of awards of excellence in grassroots leadership and good governance.”
The PC further stated that it was highly excited to note that Dr Mimikmo has been able to impact positively on all facets of human development in Ondo State.
“We agree without any equivocations that Dr. Mimiko has really worked and is still working for the good people of Ondo state with zeal. He is indeed a practical example of Omoluabi per excellence.
“We therefore wholeheartedly agreed to assiduously work for his success at the October 20, 2012 gubernatorial elections in Ondo State” the group added and enjoined “all true lovers of our Sunshine state to mobilise for the victory of this uncommon leader,” the statement added.
