PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has been called upon by ‘General’ Peter Dolo-Ebiowei, alias “Voice of John Togo”, to commence proper development of the entire region and not a section of it.
The new militant leader made the call in Warri yesterday and noted that the long neglect of the region was the root cause of the armed struggle by Togo.
The militant group, Niger Delta Liberation Front (NDLF), says its renewed move is to keep the struggle for development by deceased militant warlord, John Togo, alive.
The group which preferred to be called “Voice of John Togo” said it wants to carry on with the ‘struggle’ which John Togo was pursuing in the Niger Delta region.
This time, the group wouldn’t take up arms, but says it would agitate vigorously to attract the Federal Government to act on issues concerning development of the oil-rich region, the leader of the group said.
Dolo-Ebiowei was the second-in-command to John Togo.
He also called on Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godday Orubebe, Chief Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo), Hon Kingsley Kuku and others to prevail on President Jonathan to commence proper development of the entire region.
