LAGOS—A 34-year-old man, Sunday Akanbi, has been arraigned before a Surulere Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for dangerous driving and failure to produce a driver’s licence, after hitting a Divisional Crime Officer of Police’s car.
The prosecutor, Idowu Onime, told the court that the accused drove in a dangerous manner and failed to show remorse, after hitting the officer’s car and was unable to produce his driver licence, when it was demanded.
Onime said the alleged offences were committed last May 21, at Orile-Bus Stop on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Onime noted that the alleged offences contravened Sections 18, 28 (1) and 36 (1) of the Road Traffic Laws.
However, Senior Magistrate M. Fadeyi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N25,000 with a surety in like sum. The court adjourned the matter till June 22, for hearing.
