Fans of Gombe United Football Club attacked players and officials of the Shooting Stars shortly after the home side  beat the visitors 2-1last Wednesday.

Shooting Stars striker, Raheem Owolabi was said  to have been revived after being stabbed by a fan with dagger and subsequently collapsed.

According to a source at the venue, the medical team at the stadium battled to save his life as he only regain consciousness an hour later but sustained a deep cut to his right arm.

Team doctor, Funmi Ogunjimi was quoted as saying that,  “he collapsed having lost so much blood.”
The 3SC’s club camera was destroyed as irate fans descended on the harmless contingent from Ibadan shortly after the final whistle. The fans accused 3SC players of attempting to win in Gombe.

Meanwhile,  Shooting Star board member, Tunde Anifowose Kelani said the club will not take the attack lightly as they will employ all legal means to seek redress

“This is unprecedented and unacceptable. We shall see it through”, he said.
The team reportedly fled  to Bauchi after the security personnel escorted them out of the stadium.

 Bridge Boys target promotion to Premier League

Coach of Bridge Boys FC of Lagos,  Alati Daramola has said that  their target for this season is to  gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier League, NPL next season .

Coach Daramola  told Inside Out Premier League  that they are poised this season to do their best, so as to play in the Professional league next season .

“For many  years, Lagos State seemed to have been forgotten in the game of soccer especially in  the Nigeria Premier league. This  does not speak well of the state. While other teams in different states are  representing their states in the league and also winning laurels for the state, Lagos is not.

“Our plan is to ensure things work well for the club this season. There are so many gains, if the  club gains promotion and represents the state. We have talented and skilful players that is why we want to do our best to ensure we gain promotion and with a sports loving governor, Babatunde Fashola,  I believe it is possible,” Daramola said.
