BENIN— AHEAD the July 14, governorship election in Edo State, the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, DPVF, led by Alhaji Asari Dokubo and Coalition of Registered Political Parties, CRPP, in Edo State, yesterday, supported the second term ambition of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
While Dokubo, at an event organised in Benin City by the Edo Youths for Good Governance, described Oshiomhole’s performance in the past three years a “magic,” and hence deserved a second tenure, CRPP, hitherto a strong ally to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, in a statement by its Chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor, said though the group had in the past aligned with the PDP in criticizing the administration of Oshiomhole, “with the on going developmental projects in the state, we have realised that Oshiomhole meant well for our people and he should continue.”
Addressing the youths, Alhaji Dokubo, who predicted victory for Oshiomhole in the first ballot, warned the PDP in the state against rigging the election, saying “we will be here to monitor the election.”
