For the second time in two weeks, Federal Government College Ibadan Old Boys Cricket Club will go head to head with their bitter rivals, BRF Cricket Club of Ibeju Lekki as they fight for the top prize in the 2012 Lagos GT Assure T/20 cricket  final.

Last weekend, the Ibadan warlords for once asserted their authority in the Lagos cricket scene when they dethroned the Lagos champions in the final of the 2012 Iris Smart Technologies CCC Super Four League. It was BRF’s first defeat in almost two seasons and no doubt, marked a turning point in the fortunes of the two clubs.

In the epic battle that attracted so much interest among cricket followers in Lagos, GCI won the toss and opted to bowl first. BRF scored 187 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs.

In reply, GCI chased down the total scoring 189 runs in 44.2 overs. BRF opening bowlers Abiodun Abioye and Seye Olympio both struck early to dismiss Ayo Ewete and Femi John for 0 respectively but failed to brake through a strong 3rd wicket partnership of Odeku and Adegbola which accounted for 88 runs before Odeku departed on 41 bowled by Oyede Leke. Kunle Adegbola 64 off 91 balls.
