Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, weekend, condoled with the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, on the demise of his mother, Hajiya Aishatu Abubakar.
Chief Akpabio, who paid a condolence visit to Mr. Abubakar in Abuja, described the death of Hajiya Aishatu as a “tragic, painful and unfortunate incident.”
He said: “We heard about the tragic incident of the demise of your mother and I was mandated by the good people of Akwa Ibom State to come and commiserate with you and your family. It is a very challenging period for you. Not too long ago you lost your dear wife and this one followed.
The loss of a mother is very painful. We just want you to be consoled that she had lived long enough to mentor you and see you become a source of pride to the nation.”
The governor who was accompanied during the visit by the former Minister of Petroleum, Atuekong Don Etiebet, said Akwa Ibom people loved and were praying for Mr Abubakar, knowing it was God who placed him there at the moment.
