Technical Director job: Ex-Eagles coaches jab NFF

Former Super Eagles coaches, Shuaibu Amodu and Kashimawo Laloko have criticised the Nigeria Football Federation for its decision to consider a foreigner for the vacant position of the Technical Director for all the national teams.

A Former Ethiopia and Namibia coach Tom Saintfeit is expected to be named the new  Technical Director by the NFF anytime soon but his choice is already meeting up with stiff resistance from Nigerian coaches, who feel that the NFF was making a big mistake by appointing an expatriate for such an important position.

Amodu said: “I actually called the NFF President (Aminu Maigari) to know is a foreigner was being considered for the Technical Director job and he told me that it was in the pipeline. But I wonder what could have informed this choice of an foreigner for a Nigerian job.

“We have enough qualified resource persons in this country, conversant with the Nigerian situation and who can fill that position. A foreigner cannot solve our problems. We need to believe in our own and give them the chance to work”, added Amodu.

Laloko said he was waiting to see the miracle that a foreign technical director would perform in Nigeria.

“Are the people in NFF saying that we do not have enough qualified persons in Nigeria for that position. I want to see the miracles that he is going to perform”, added Laloko.
