ADO EKITI-The outgoing  Commissioner of Police  in Ekiti State, Mr. Olayinka  Balogun has tasked  his  successor in office, Mr. Ibrahim Meishanu not to compromise  on the order of the Inspector General  of Police, Mr. Mohammed   Abubakar  on how to instil  discipline and  sanity   into  the rank and file  of the Nigeria Police.

He urged  Meishanu  to discourage illegal detention and ensure that all road blocks that had been dismantled are not allowed to spring anywhere in the state.

Balogun who was speaking during the official handover ceremony to his successor in  Ado Ekiti, yesterday, disclosed   that he neither demanded  money from any of his subordinates, nor encouraged the officers to  engage in any nefarious activities, calling on his successor to imbibe the spirit to rid the Force of corruption.

He said: “I never demanded money from any of my subordinates or asked them to make money on my behalf. This I think, is one of the ways to check corruption.”

In his  response,Meshanu  pledged to  impliment the reforms agenda of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abubakar in the Command, so that the state could have men that could be proud of .
