He is an actor, a stand up comedian, a dancer and a commercial model. In this interview with, the celeb talks about how he came into stand up comedy, his family and his future. Enjoy!
How long have you been here?
I have been in the industry for twelve years. I came in professionally in 2000.
How has it being since 2000?
Well, it has been okay, but it could be better. I think it is better to be the way you have always been than to fall apart. I can say l have been this way and l haven’t lost out or change. And if l am asked to rate myself, then I will say that I have remained consistent.
What exactly do you do in the entertainment industry?
I am a stand- up comedian, an actor, a dancer and a commercial model.
Was comedy your first passion or was it acting?
I started out as a comedian before l became an actor. Comedy began for me back in the days of Okwu-onu’s club in Aba, Abia state. I went further into comedy in school and during my service year. I knew from childhood that I am a funny person. I do not have the funny façade like some of my colleagues in the industry.
One does not have to look like a clown to be funny. In my opinion, looking like a clown only means that you are looking like a stupid person. The ability to make your audience really laugh at your jokes without you being affected by their fun makes you a good stand up comedian, so it is not easy.
What is the pay like in standup comedy, is it better than acting?
Stand up comedy pays better any day than acting, especially if you are popular and really funny.
What are you outside all these different things?
I am a dad, a husband, a brother, an uncle and a son.
What’s your idea of fun?
I love hanging out with friends and being with ladies. I do not have to be dating any of them to be with them. I love their company. I can say, l am blessed amongst women!
You are a married man, how does madam see your friendliness with ladies?
My wife understands my job and my person. She knows that all those things l do is for the fun of it and that l do not have anything with these ladies.
What’s your advice to up coming celebs?
They should stay focus, pray and push. Nothing good comes easy and so is stardom. It is not a day’s job, their time certainly would come.
