Sports minister Bolaji Abdullahi last night said that he was relieved that the football crisis has been resolved peacefully.
He said that he had always known that the problem was political and that he had to seek a political solution to it. Said the minister:
“Yes, I asked them to resign in order to achieve what I wanted. It worked because it rattled them and they all agreed for a peaceful resolution. If I didn’t do so it was possible that they would have resisted peaceful resolution and they will all still be fighting today.
I’m happy that it has been settled and we can move forward with our football now. We have achieved peace and with it we will move on.”
