The 2012 Gulder 5-A-Side football championship has been fixed to kick off from April 27 in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
Speaking at the pre-tournament press briefing at the company’s premises in Lagos Tuesday, the corporate affairs adviser, Nigeria Breweries Plc, Yusuf Ageni said Gulder’s relationship with sports, particularly football dated back to the early days of the Nigeria Premier League.
Winners of the event will bag N5 million, runners-up get N2 million while the third place winners get N1 million.
According to Ejiro Omonode of Master Sports International, organisers of the event, the competition will hold in six zones beginning with the Makurdi leg on April 27. “We will then move to Enugu, Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, Ole in Delta, Ijebu Ode in Ogun State and ends at the NIS Gymnasium, in Lagos,” Ejiro said.
