BARELY 48 hours after the former governor of Edo State, Prof Osarhiemen Osunbor, expressed his support for administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, over two thousand of his Iruekpen kinsmen, led by the former chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, and a close political associate of the former governor, Monday Abulu, yesterday, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

They accused the former  chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, of humiliating their son in the July 25, 2012 governorship primary in the state, where Osunbor came last with 22 votes and vowed to ensure that the PDP is humiliated in Iruekpen come July 14, 2012 governorship election in the state.

They were received into the party by Oshiomhole,  the state chairman of the ACN, Thomas Okosun, and the South South Vice-Chairman of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The governor,  who received a rousing reception in the area, expressed the joy that the people of Iruekpen have decided to join a progressive party, adding that, apart from that borehole which his administration had built in that area, he had assured Osunbor that his administration would ensure the completion of the roads in Iruekpen which was commenced by the Osunbor administration.

“I know that Osunbor loves  his people of Iruekpen so much because he was passionate about the Iruekpen road when we discussed recently and I assured him that I will complete it. This election we are going into is not about noise making but about our report cards. When chief comes here and ask you people to vote for PDP, you people should ask him what he has done for the people of Iruekpen, “he said.
