Yenagoa— Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Seriake Dickson, has said that there was no victor, no vanquished in the February 11, governorship election in the state.

Governor Dickson, who spoke when the Committee of Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Candidates 2012 called on him at Government House, Yenagoa, said, “I wish to say here that in the last governorship election in the state, there was no victor and no vanquished.”

Similarly,  determined to drive home his restoration agenda, Dickson has sent two bills to the state House of Assembly. They are the Transparency Bill and the Cultism Proscription Bill. Receiving the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Bayelsa State chapter, in Yanagoa, he described the two bills as critical to the socio-economic development of the state.

He added that the Transparency Bill will compel the executive arm of government as well as council chairmen to make public all revenue that accrue to them monthly while the Cultism Proscription Bill seeks to proscribe cultism in the state.

On the election in the state, he said the ultimate winners were Bayelsans and called on the members of the gubernatorial candidates committee to join hands with him to work towards the progress of the state and to deliver effective service to the people.

He said: “With the governorship election gone, the partnership between us should get stronger because a lot has to be done. We must, therefore, work collectively for the growth and progress of our dear state and deliver effective service to the people.”
