Jos— Nigerian architects have been challenged to adopt new strategies towards better service delivery to their clients.

A member of the Nigeria Institute of Architects, Mr. Mobolaji Rotibi made the call in a distinguished alumni lecture at the University of Jos, saying architects should move away from the traditional ways of doing their work to new approaches.

He advocated what he called motivational architecture which he described as “the art or science of designing logically to stimulate the interest of a client in a particular way aimed at enhancing service delivery.”

Rotibi stressed the need for architects to have the right vision and strive to institutionalize it to carve a niche for themselves in the profession through courage, patience faith and grace.

He explained what he called the “360 Degrees Law of Vision” which begins from visualizing a concept to translating it into reality adding, “who you are expresses what you do and what is celebrated is what is manifested.”

He said time had come for architects to have a change of attitude and mindset and allow for a shift in paradigm to motivational architecture to boost service delivery. “The stone age did not end for lack of stones but because the people chose to move on”.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hayward Mafuyai commended the alumnus for returning to share his experience in his alma mater and encouraged other alumni to always remember where they started from.
