2 die in Benue PDP crisis

BY PETER DURU, Markudi

No fewer than two persons were feared dead while the residence of the chairman, Gwer local government area of Benue State was  razed  in a crisis that engulfed Aliade following a clash of rival political thugs at the PDP local government congress held in the area.

Eyewitnesses said the crisis broke out yesterday in the politically volatile town when the result of the local government ward congress indicated that the camp of a serving commissioner in the state  had taken the lead.

The out outcome of the process was however rejected by another faction led by a federal legislator who alleged that the local government council chairman skewed the process to favour his political godfather.
