Why we hired Cooreman – Wolves

By KATE OBODO
Warri Wolves Football Club have revealed why they  hired the Belgian tactician, Maurice Cooreman as the head coach of the team, following the removal of Paul Aigbogun as the head coach.

Last Monday, former Kaduna United coach Cooreman was made public as the head coach of Wolves to replace Aigbogun  who has taken a sabbatical and returned to England for family reasons, for the remainder of the season.

Media Officer of the club Timi Ebikagboro, disclosed to Inside Out Premier League that  Aigbogun had gone to England to solve some family issues which will take a better part of the season. He said  the reason the club hired the former Kaduna Utd coach was  his vast knowledge in the game.

“Let me start by saying that Aigbogun was not sacked but went to  attend to some urgent family needs,” he began

“Before now,  we had gone for Cooreman but when the deal failed, we had no choice than  to focus on Aigbogun. And why we went for Cooreman again is because we love  his style of coaching. Cooreman is one coach that has paid his dues as a coach in the Nigeria Premier League especially, as an expatriate. We believe in  his tactical and technical efficiency  in the game ,” he said.

On their (Warri Wolves) target for Cooreman this season, Ebikagboro said, “of course, winning the league this season is our priority and so we expect him to do well for the club.”

Continuing he said,“Having  finished third last season, we expect him to go beyond what we had last season especially  by  winning the league. If he is able to get to the second and  third position, it is acceptable.

Anything less than that, won’t  be okay for the club. We also  want  to do well in the CAF Confederation,” he added.
