Chairman Delta State Sports Commission, Amaju Pinnick has disclosed that the state will continue to place as its priority, the discovery and building of talents so the country could feed from its pool of reservoir.
Pinnick, made this known while speaking to newshounds at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode where Warri Wolves lost to Rising Stars 1-0 in a Week 9 league tie.
He said the state is always ready for any championship anytime, especially, the National Sports Festival.
“Delta State is number one anytime, any day in terms of sports in the country, so we want to continue to focus on discovering new talents and training them into becoming world champions.
“As a State, we don’t stop learning and training, consequently, whether sports festival or not, we cannot desist from searching for the best athletes across the state for tomorrow. We do this not because of championships but for human development and national representation. With this, I know we will finish in a descent position on the medals table.
