Police embark on aerial surveillance in Gombe

Gombe – Barely six days after an unidentified gunmen attacked the Gombe Divisional Police Headquarters in Gombe metropolis, the police authorities have deployed a helicopter to embark on aerial surveillance of the state.

The helicopter was seen hovering around the Gombe metropolis Wednesday at about 9.30 a.m, and later went to some surrounding local governments.

Speaking on phone on the operations, the Gombe State Commissioner of Police (CP), AIG Orubebe Ghandi, said the action was to assure the citizens that they were safe.

Ghandi, who was recently promoted to AIG, has yet to receive his new posting.

“They are here to patrol. They are here to give you people confidence that nothing will happen.”
