The acting secretary of the Nigerian Premier League, Tunji Babalola has disclosed that the Nigerian Police have waded into the matter involving the missing money in the board’s volt last week.

He told Inside Out Premier League that the board’s accountant, Joe Ogbowie has been arrested by the police for questioning despite writing an undertaken to pay the money.

According Babalola, the Police was brought in being that the money wasn’t theirs, it would be wise enough to bring in the men in black for proper investigation.

“The matter is now with the police and I am sure that after they have question him, we will get to the root of the matter, as we are still shocked how he got the signatures of the signatories to the account of the NPL,

“He was arrested over the week by the Police for questioning. He wrote an undertaking that he will pay back the money, but since the money is not my personal money or even the board, we had to bring in the police to do proper investigation which has led to his arrest.

“We hope that all due processes that needs to be followed will be use to get this issue sorted out so we can face the real thing (football) in the entire stadium properly,” said Babalola
