LAGOS – To reduce carnage on Nigerian roads, the Rotary Club of Egbeda in conjunction with Federal Road Safety Commission, Ikotun Area Command, has organised a day safety seminar for members of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, motorcycle (Okada) riders and tricycle operators in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

The club also provided free eye screening and blood pressure check for commercial drivers and other people in the area.
At the awareness seminar, President of Rotary Club, Mr Sylvester Bakare, said the event was to sensitise commercial drivers on how best they could use the road to save their lives and that of their passengers.

“Our aim is to make drivers aware of precautions they need to take while driving and how to manage the road against the other users, so as to prevent accidents and make life easier for the people,” he added.
