Dolphins’ coach blames defeat on injury

Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt Chief coach, Zachary Baraje, weekend, blamed the team’s 1-3 loss in a premiership derby to Sharks FC on injury.

Baraje told newsmen that most of the key players were nursing various degrees of injuries which negatively affected their game plan.

According to the coach, some of the key players of his club sustained injuries in the CAF Champion League match in Equatorial Guinea.

He said the players that featured in the match were not as experienced as their Sharks counterparts.

Sharks got their goals through the trio of Bright Ejike, Kola Anubi and Thankgod Amaehule in the 13th, 25th and 72nd minutes of the encounter respectively.

Hassan Husseini scored Dolphins’ consolatory goal in the 89 minutes via a penalty kick.

Sharks Media officer, Confidence Idah, told journalists that they prepared very well for their city rivals.

” We expected a tough match from Dolphins and that made us prepare for this match. We won because of the level of preparation and determination we put in the game.” (NAN)
