Yenagoa – Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has dissolved the state executive council and boards of parastatals.
Dickson also ordered the freezing of the state’s accounts and stoppage of all transactions with immediate effect.
The sacking of the state executive and freezing of the government’s accounts is contained in a statement by the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson.
The sacked members of the state executive council and boards of parastatals, it was learnt, were directed to hand over all government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
The governor, meanwhile, reiterated the readiness of his government to ensure transparency, accountability and value re-orientation in all institutions and functionaries of government at all levels, adding that tackling corruption would be one of the cardinal objectives of his restoration agenda.
Dickson assured that the resources of the state would be utilized to fund education, construction of roads and agriculture, adding that the days of enrichment without labour and funding the greed and avarice of a few at the expense of the development of the people were over.
Highlighting infrastructural development as one of the cardinal principles of his restoration agenda, Dickson promised that the completion of three senatorial roads would be given priority.
