Shooting Stars FC Technical Adviser, Fetus Allen has said that his plan is to revive Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan and make them a winning team again.

In a chat with Inside Out Premier League in Ilorin after a match, Coach Allen said quality football, laurels and continental participation will excite the teeming Ibadan supporters.

“All I am aiming to do is to put the team in order in terms of quality football and results maximization. More so, to bring back the glory days of the club with laurels and continental participation, so the teeming fans will stick with joy,” Allen stated.

Reflecting on the teams’ defeat to ABS Football Club in Ilorin, Coach Allen expressed his pain losing the tie and the inability of his strikers to convert their chances in front of goal.

“It is disheartening for me as a coach to lose in Ilorin which has been my home for years. It was painful seeing my players losing scoring chances in the second half of the game. If my lads had taken their chances, I want to believe that the game would have ended in a draw,” the former Bukola Babes gaffer stressed.

On the management of the league this season by the NPL, the retired Central Bank staff said, “I must confess that they have done well. We know that there are still one or two challenges in the league that require their attention, but I have to give credit to them for their courage to commence the league this season,”Allen added.

ABS’ Salas predicts 2-0 over Tornadoes

Team Manager of ABS Football Club of Ilorin, Alloy Chukwuemeka has sounded a note of warning to Niger Tornadoes in their Week 8 clash at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.

Chukwuemeka told Inside Out Premier League after his side’s 2-0 victory over 3SC in Ilorin that his lads are a moving train and will crush the Justin Tenge-led Tornadoes. “This is a warning signal to Niger Tornadoes come this weekend. They should bear in mind that we are a moving train now and ready to crush them very well,” Chukwuemeka said.

He continued as he relayed his joy on the victory over Shooting Stars stating that his boys have found their winning formula. “I am very happy for the win as we really prepared for it. I want other teams to know that we have re-discovered our winning formula. I am sure we will continue to win our games as we did last season when we were known as Bukola Babes.

“The victory means a lot to us being that we have been without a point in the league since its commencement. Notwithstanding, I was supposed to celebrate my birthday the Thursday before last but had to postpone it to today (February 4) so I can celebrate it well and the boys did not fail me. For me, it is a birthday present,” Chukwuemeka added.

Be ready to be crushed, Chukwuemeka tells Tornadoes

Abdul Salas, captain of ABS FC has predicted a 2-0 victory in his teams’ favour as they trade tackle against Niger Tornadoes today.

Salas, who spoke to Inside Out Premier League at the stadium after the match, said he and his colleague are not afraid of the Minna side as they are bent to climb up the log.

“We will win the game by 2-0 this weekend. We need the maximum three points from the game because we want to climb up the ladder as we are not comfortable with our status on the log. I am not afraid of Tornadoes knowing that we have very strong and young team,” Salas said.

He commented on the 3SC triumph, stressing that it was a product hard work.

“We put in serious work into this game because we know we will not be able stand our fans at the end of 90 minutes if we loss again. The joy in the heart of the players alone tells it all.

“We really thank God for the victory. Wit it, I believe we will do well in subsequent matches.

The win, I know will enhance our morale knowing that we have one of the young team in the league and also losing most of out players at the end last season,” Salas added.
