The stay- at- home directive by organised Labour in Bayelsa State has suffered further setback as some private schools have resumed for the second term just as hundreds of ex militants yesterday, staged a peaceful rally in support of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

Also, members of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in support of the fuel subsidy removal led by Comrade Famous Daunemighan, a CPC guber candidate and former National President of the the Ijaw youth group, took their campaign to the East West road yesterday.

Bayelsa has been calm since Monday when organized labour embarked on nation wide strike in protest over the Federal Government removal of fuel subsidy.This is beside the refusal of market women, private business operators, commercial vehicle operators and Okada operators to comply with organized labour directive to Nigerians to stay at home.

The private schools in Yenagoa had since resumed but had had increase their fees by 50 percent investigation revealed.

The schools resumed Wednesday on noticing that most of the privately owned business outfits in the state are not in support of the stay at home directive of the NLC/TUC.

Some of the schools, it was learnt chose to break rank with NLC/TUC strike which they alleged had not benefited them.

Our correspondent, who went round town however observed that the turn out of pupils in the schools were poor ostensibly due to the spate of the on going pro subsidy removal rallies in the capital city by groups sympathetic to the Federal Government deregulation policy.
