Asaba- DELTA State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare has admonished Principals in public secondary schools in the state to ensure that they reside in their places of postings for effective control and supervision of the school.

The Commissioner in a statement by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Dennis Medi, cautioned against collection of illegal levies and admission of unqualified students, warning that strict sanctions would be meted out, if the orders were not adhered to.

He said: “You (principals) should take full control of your school as you will be held accountable for any anomaly,” and called on the principals to stop lobbying for postings, as seniority should be used as a yardstick.

He further said: “The new structure and system of doing things were introduced as correction for anomalies associated with previous postings, whereby many senior teachers were either left out or made to work under their juniors.”
