KATSINA—Katsina State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Adediran Oluwasegun, has commended Governor Ibrahim Shema for his commitment towards developing the state.
Oluwasegun said: “Katsina State is a model in all respects; from physi-cal infrastructural develop-ment to a peaceful and harmonious environment.”
Shema and Oluwasegun spoke during a meeting of the State Security Council, SSC, and religious leaders at Government House, yesterday. Governor Shema urged Nigerians to remain united and live peacefully with one another, as according to him, it was the will of God that “we remained one country.”
Oluwasegun urged other states in Nigeria to emulate the style of Shema’s leadership in the state even as he prayed for the unity of Nigeria.
In a statement by Shema’s Seniour Special Assistant, SSA, on Press Affairs, Mallam Lawal Matazu, the governor said it was God’s will that Nigeria is as it is today with different people of different religious backgrounds living together as a nation.
Shema then reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintain peace in Katsina State, just as he praised the residents for being law-abiding and peaceful.
On fuel subsidy, Governor Shema said the issue could be settled amicably through dialogue between the Federal Government and organised labour.
